Beheld the raindrops pierce the clouds
Refreshed by the dampened solace of pain
The pelting dew amidst a shroud
Which shatters the links of a blissless chain
A leopard lurks relieved from captivity
Predatory by nature though bewilderingly calm
A nativity story told though an unrecognized name
As clutched the essence of peace in my palms
The scars remain from a gladiators past
Although ascended to the statute of a king
A prayer extended for dominion to last
As well as for forgiveness for one’s prevalent sins
My heart sings, remained untamed in the vineyards
Thrilled as deemed lacking in shame
A moment relished, a purpose fulfilled
As a scapegoat forever relieved of blame.
Wonderfully meaningful words!
